Important note when using with IIcPlus: It is known that the V1.16 firmware cannot be used with the IIcPlus. The products we ship from now on will have the new V.1.17 firmware, which we believe is the perfect firmware that has been tested on Apple IIPlus, IIe, IIc, IIcPlus, IIgs ROM01 and ROM03.

We have added a new Luxury Kit, which is basically the same as the Standard Kit, but with one more Arduino Nano board and extra 32PIN IC sockets. If the Nano board ever fails (due to a soldering error or a power short), the only solution is to replace it. If you mount the Nano board on the IC socket from the start, replacement takes just a few seconds. The two Nano boards are shipped pre-programmed.

SPIISD DIY KIT is an open source project created by us, and we will also start selling DIY Kit  in this store.

Instructions

Assemble guide is here.
How to create a bootable SD card is here.

As we have upgraded to V1.16, the new method for setting up the SD card is described above link.
*A ready-made sample files for the V.1.16 SD card can be found here.

Important Notes:
If you want to use SPIISD with "Apple IIgs", it has been found that the V1.16 firmware does not work well with older Micro SD card. This is because there is known to be a slower latency when loading files from the config, so if you are using an older card it may not load as a startup disk.
If speed is not an issue, ROM01 and ROM03 IIgs have been found to work well.

Fully assembled

This is a standard kit assembled and then checked for functionality before shipping. *If you would like a cable-less assembly (like the purple board), please request this when placing your order. The board is only available in blue.

/40USD

Options:

The IDC 20-pin ribbon cable can be used as is for Apple's original 3.5 floppy cable. *We have prepared this as an option for other troublesome customers. Made in China, the grade is normal.

/6 USD
We have provided an SPIISD Micro SD card with bootable images pre-installed. There are several 32MB ProDOS images, and a config.txt with four of the images selected. Works OOB.
/8 USD
*If you would like GS/OS, please make your own SD card. We are sorry, but those who want to use GS/OS are in the minority, and many of them suggest unusual ways of using it, which we are unable to accommodate.

This SPIISD is designed so that based the SmartPortSD program. PCB design by Kay Koba.

Firmware V.1.16, Wing Yueng from MFA2 work shop (AKA, KBOO HK) improved SmartportSD for SPIISD. By placing "config.txt" at the root of the SD card, you can place various files without renaming them.

Assembly may require specialized knowledge. By joining our Discord, you can supplement these working methods and missing information.

The board color is currently only blue.

Supported Apple II computers

- Apple IIc, IIc+

- Apple IIgs *Use newer SD card

- Apple IIe, IIe platinum, IIe euro platinum

- Apple II plus, II europlus, II J-plus

*Apple IIe and IIplus requires Grappler Minus card and floppy controller cards (DiskII card or 5.25 Floppy controller card). *They are used in combination.

For Apple IIc 255 ROM

Smartport will not be enabled if ROM 255 is installed(Probably ROM0 as well). To check the ROM of your IIc, run the following program from the Basic prompt.

PRINT PEEK (64447)

If the output number is "255", the ROM needs to be replaced. Please purchase the ROM flashing service ROM4x ($8)separately if you don't have a ROM programmer. Installing ROM4X requires replacing the ROM (DIP28 pin) and changing the solder jumpers of W1 and W2. It is written in detail here.

*Regarding ROM4X license, we contacted Michael Guidero, the author of ROM4X, to obtain permission. But this is an open source project.
